Apply clip attributes to proxies

I have increasingly started creating portrait content for mobile phones. I shoot 6K RED RAW footage and edit off a home server. This means that more often than not, I need to create proxies so that my network speeds don't become a bottleneck. When editing portrait videos, I select all the clips, change the clip attributes to rotate each clip 90 degrees. This works perfectly until proxies come into play.

I generate my proxies using Blackmagic Proxy Generator. Davinci Resolve recognises the proxies automatically which I appreciate but the clip attributes are not reflected onto the proxies which does seem like a bug and it means I cannot use proxies for portrait videos. I would like for the clip attributes to apply to the proxies

So that’s how the logic works!
If there’s a proxy there then ignore rotate! I wonder what other attributes this applies to. Don’t have the manual handy. Is this mentioned there?

I think anamorphic sizing also doesn't work with proxies. The only way I know how to control this is to render out all the proxies manually -- then you can precisely control sizing, file names, color space, codec (any one you want), and so on.

I think this is the nail in the coffin for the approach of baking modifiable attributes into proxies. Unless they try to keep track of whether the proxy was created internally or externally to Resolve and ignore attrs in one case while applying them in the other... in which case why ever bother baking them in?

So has this changed or is it still the same?

I started an anamorphic project in BM cloud - but the proxies are not conforming to the attribute tag.. so it looks like I have to hand generate them all first ?

Can someone give insight on the process they would use ?

also wondering what we can do for this issue

I have a Sony A7iv and a lot of my videos when imported into Resolve are the wrong orientation. Instead of having to rotate then crop in 1.8x, it would be easier just to change the clip attribute to turn auto rotation off. Is there a way to set rotation to 0 for all clips by default? Even if that was possible it still doesn't change the rotation attribute for proxy media
