I've become convinced that the correct way to "resolve" the DVR Fusion Clip vs. Comp conundrum is, that when one places a Fusion Comp into a Timeline, that it honors and refers back to that Fusion Comp instead of copying the node tree into a Fusion Clip. And that when one makes what would've been a Fusion Clip from ordinary footage, that a corresponding Comp is created in the Media browser.

In other words, the Clip must die to save the Comp, which is more important.
