Improved Stabilization (in Color page and Timeline)

We frequently record classical musicians such as singers or violinists in concert settings. Despite using tripods we sometimes require stabilization - set to "Camera Lock". The problem we then often encounter is that the stabilizer tents to follow the movements of our subject rather than locking onto the background, particularly if the subject is more obviously in focus than the background. The result then looks more like a gentle version of Smart Reframe.

It would be great if the stabilizer (in the Color page and the Timeline) could offer just a couple of tracking points that could be used to tell Resolve what to lock onto.

Before anyone asks: we edit long 8K takes in 4K timelines which prevents us from going through Fusion.

I have tried playing with the Color page's tracker to move a 16x9 Power Window outputting to Alpha node, but that just yields a stabilized cropped image moving around in the output (duhh). If anyone can think of a way to (mis)use the Color page's tracker to stabilize video that would be terrific!

As a workaround, the Classic Stabilizer has a Point Tracker that does what you want

Thank you so much, Mads! I didn't realize the Classic Stabilizer was still in there. That works for us now!
