Reseting time to zero when exporting subtitles

When I started using DaVinci Resolve I found it odd that timeline stats form 01:00:00:00.

After some reading I learned why is that and decided to keep it that way.

Then I decided to create video with subtitles. I did all the work, rendered video, exported subtitles as STL file, but when I opened it in player, subtitles, although loaded were not displayed.

I quickly realized that time in SRT file starts from 01:00:00:00 and guessed that was issue - player used time starting from 00:00.

So i changed time code in project to 00:00:00:00 and reexported subtitles. Now they became visible.

I also found out that I am not alone, this was confusing for lots of people.

So here is suggestion. In options for exporting subtitles, add option, like checkbox, that would force using start time 00:00:00:00 regardless of Timeline settings (maybe even checked as default). That would be obvious for users.

I think it's better to just use a timeline starting at 0 if you're not working in Broadcast. Don't use the default 1 hour.

If this option is added then the same project can be used in both cases.
