Timeline Name and Timecode
Posted: Fri Dec 08, 2023 6:18 pmI am a finish artist and colorist with about 16 years of experience in the industry mostly in the commercial world. I would love for the option to use a clip's source name and timecode when creating a timeline from that clip. There are a lot of options for naming and formatting with tokens on the deliver side which is great. On the source side however, it's more limited.
A checkbox with the option to use a source clip's metadata like name and timecode would work great or even the ability to use tokens to pull from the source clip's metadata imo. This would save me a ton of time let's say if there are a bunch of submasters that need new graphics or a lot of spots that need color for example. If there was a quick way to select all those sources, name them to match the sources and use the source timecode, that would be a huge time booster. Versions could be appended as usual with tokens on the deliver page.
