Y'all ready for this...
Locked Playhead on Edit was one of the very first Feature Requests ever, maybe even the first after the FR section was initially established. A LOT of people wanted it, and we finally got it!
Buuuuuuuuuuut...
In Detail or Custom Zoom views, it works great. Very much what was needed, I think. But in Full Extent Zoom...it doesn't make much sense. In this Zoom view, we get the entire timeline and there's just little to no need for a Fixed Playhead. Further, having it engaged really messes with the Full Extent Zoom view and navigation of the timeline. So to get things working efficiently, we have to constantly enable/disable Fixed Playhead based on Zoom view.
It just doesn't work.
So this Feature Request is for the new Fixed Playhead to automatically be disabled in Full Extent Zoom view, and then automatically reengaged for any other Zoom view. (If it was on before, of course.)

My Biases:
You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
