PLEASE Remove stills location update required pop up

99% of my projects never require stills exports so I don't set that path. But I have to manually set it every. Single. Project... or face the constant scrutinizing eye of the pop up. I even set up a folder that it's looking for but since it's in a system-level directory, Windows won't allow Resolve to write there.

Please either:

A) Add a system-wide gallery path option (as opposed to per-project)
B) Just don't remind us of this 1 setting or
C) Default to putting the gallery path in the Project Media path (preferred)

That's not for Stills, it's for Resolve 'generated' media, like VO recordings, and possibly the forthcoming Set Extension feature.

Maybe Magic Mask, too? BMD did say they were working on removing that from Cache.

I can see where this makes sense at the Project level. (Though, I don't really know why this Working Folder has to be defined at the project start.)

How are you creating the stills: on the Color page or on the Edit page? The methodology is different for each.

On the Color page, it just captures to the internal Cache/Gallery Stills drive (which is a path you set up in prefs). But if you export these stills, you DO still have to specify the file names and destination. Unfortunately, it also export a DRX color correction file, which is an ongoing annoyance.

On the Edit page, you have to go to the File menu and choose "Export Current Frame As Still," and that also requires a destination and file name (starting from the clip's name).

I usually do it on the Color page from the Gallery Bin, select a bunch of stills, and export them all at once in one go, using the Labels on the stills as file names.

I can see where if you were doing a lot of these, you'd want it to be automatic... but there are some potential dangers, like if the drive weren't attached, there were permissions problems, or some other complication.
