I don’t know how to describe this correctly, but having the sliders at the top of video clips in the Edit page that create quick fade in/out behave the same as they do on audio clips, where a curve modifier shows up and allows for easing the slope of the curve.
OR better yet, make it so that adjusting that slider automatically creates key frames in the composite opacity control instead of being a separate element.

Auto Sync Audio -> Start of Track

Sometimes you're dealing with extracted audio where timecode is broken and you just need to append a fixed audio file onto its matching video.

edit page, if i point to a track and [add track], it put it on top of all tracks. can we have an extra option for [add track here] where it does add a single track on top of the current mouse pointing track?

in alternative do a [cntlr + add track here]

Resolve has a batch render queue on the deliver page but you need to add each timeline one at a time with the appropriate render settings.

i'd like some added feature to this as well. a way to add multiple timelines with the same render settings, they could take over the in-out points selected in your edit.

or when you change your mind about some render settings, a way to copy those settings to the rest in your batch as well.

It would be a huge improvement if one could change the distance of these markers on the timeline (picture below), they are having totally random and not helpful distances (like 11 or 19 fps on a 24 fps timeline depending on your zoom level)

If one could make them always like the distance of the fps of timeline or half of it or 2 Seconds (depending on the zoom level) would be a huge improvement on having a better overview of the timeline.

Hi,
Yes I looked at it and I can see use for it for event shoots to get quick an idea what rushes one has to work with. However I don't think it helps to sketch an narrative or dramatic outline.

AI driven skin tone correction features

It would be so amazing for Davinci to use their new AI algorithms to introduce a node correction that automatically detects skin tones based on faces and creates a qualifier, automatically shifting colors for the node so that the output lives within normally accepted ranges for skin tones.

Master Clip - How about:

In the Color Panel Nodes pane I would suggest a third option in the drop-down: "Clip" or "Timeline" - Selecting a third option "Master Clip" would apply grading to all other clips in the timeline that use the same (original file) master clip.

Then, while the "Master Clip" drop-down is selected, and any other timeline clip (from the same master) is opened it would show the same master clip nodes. (You could adjust the master clip grade nodes from any of the shared timeline clips).

For a person like me who is intermediate and a hobbiest filmmaker and editor, I need MOGRT file support to get pro look and faster workflow for my projects.

I was so comfortable using and designing corporate videos to even music videos using MOGRT files.

Rest everything is totally awesome in Resolve, Color Grading, Work flow, Cut page and Studio version with all great features.

Only need RED giant suites support and MOGRT file support.

Please consider giving us a plugin for studio version to use mogrt file or any easy way to get started

Upon select a group from a shot that does not belong to that group, I think that the timeline should jump to the nearest shot that belong to that group and show an actual frame as for v12/v12.5. Now it shows just a black frame.

Can we revert back to what used to be?

Fairlight:

- REC button keyboard shortcut.
We can already record onfly by clicking rec button during playback, it works. We only need keyboard shortcut to start/end audio recording during playback.

- Audio punch in/out:
ADR is very nice but sometimes (most of the times) we have no time to prepare it.
We need the ability to perform ADR from IN to OUT point. It would be faster then actual ADR: In, Out, Record - no need to create a new cue.

With most DAWs to punch-in you start playback, then hold the REC button down with your mouse. Punch-in occurs when you release the mouse button. To Punch-Out you click on the REC button again, (or simply stop with the space-bar).

Not sure if Resolve/Fairlight uses this industry standard or not?

(And yes Punch-In/Out between the I/O markers is pretty much an industry standard as well).

I would love the option of being able to swtich to a tempo drive timeline with bars and beats.

I mean, I've had this argument a few times with editors saying that it's unnecessary and it can all be done with markers but it's not the same. As a music producer making videos I would still love this feature to be added.

This has always been a problem for me since I've been using Resolve but it would be great to have it eventually fixed in version 16 or 17... If I have the source and edit windows ganged, and I select an in point on the edit side, then click on the source window, the play-head position jumps elsewhere, not allowing me to make an in point which corresponds to the position of the play-head in the edit window. It is a very handy feature when editing music videos. Finding a common sync point in the edit and source windows always keeps the music in sync between the source and edit. It's very frustrating when you find an in point in the edit, jump to the source window and the position jumps. It completely negates the function and I have to go back to Premiere Pro which I really hate doing.

I have reported this a few times. Hopefully someone will read this and take note because I'd love to ditch Premiere Pro completely. Thanks so much.

Bins and Smart Bins should be used consistently across Resolve. They should show up as Custom Filters in Lightbox (and vice versa), and they should be the definitions for a "group" on the color page.

My ultimate use case is camera matching - I often have 100's of clips that come from dozens of source files - but all from one camera that was never moved. I need to apply the same adjustment to every clip that ultimately came from this camera to match them up with some other camera. I can get this done with custom filters in Lightbox and shared nodes today, but it's a whole lot of manual which makes it easy to miss a clip here and there.

This would also eliminate the "a clip can only belong to one group" limitation on the color page. I frequently find that I have more than one reason to group clips, and they usually overlap. I again have to turn to Shared Nodes to accomplish this, and again have the same problem where that shared node needs to be applied to every relevant clip manually (and yes copy/paste of the grade speeds this up) - and so sometimes clips get missed.

You could do away with remote/local grades as part of this too. Just make "from the same source file" a built in Smart Bin. I don't find them particularly useful the way they're implemented today anyway.

Media Pool:
Most Studio's I've seen, including the one I work at, use a custom folder structure.
E.G
Root/Project Name
-Media
--Video
---RED
---GH5
--AUDIO
--- REC
--- MUSIC
-Proxies
-VFX
-GFX
-Review
-Delivery

It would be really helpful if I could set up such a template structure in the Media Pool, and set up predefined paths to where different files types go during cloning/importing/DIT work in resolve. When I plug in the hard drive from our Red Camera, SD cards from B-cams and Audio Recorders, it would be really helpful if Resolve could automatically make the folders for me and put the files in the right places, all in a single click as long as I've set up the template/paths right. Just click "Create structure from template" or something on import, type in the project name, select where the project should be store, then let Resolve handle the rest. This would be a natural extention of the clone tool.

Edit page:
Really loving it these days, so not many requests from me. Well done to the team at blackmagic!
I work on an ultrawide monitor. When working in Resolve, I have ample space for having the media pool and inspector open and expanded, and a viewer for the source and timeline. Whenever I open the inspector, the source viewer is removed. I get why it happens as it wouldn't fit on a standard 16:9 monitor, but I wish Resolve was more aware of the screenspace available, so I could have both viewers open all the time.

Fusion:
The current Motion Graphics workflow in fusion isn't all that intuitive.
* I suggest adding some sort of shape node, like the shape3D node, for 2D graphics, with sophisticated buildt in controls and modifiers for animation, much like a shape layer in AE.
* An option for a framed text tool would also be nice (set a box, when you start typing, text will appear inside said box, and break lines once it reaches the end of that box).
Not only would these tools make Fusion more approachable for Motion Graphics artist, they would also be very helpful in making Fusion Templates for lower thirds and such. Really useful for editors who do lightweight motion graphics.

In the same spirit, a 2D character rigging tools akin to After Effects Puppet Tool and Adobe Character Animator would be really helpful. My studio won't be able to drop AE from our workflow without such tools. Fusion is too much work by comparison.

It would also be really helpful if you updated a lot of the 3D workflow, especially when it comes to materials. I started working with 3D in 2016 and I had no clue how to work materials and textures in Fusion, coming from C4D/3DS max with Arnold, Corona and RedShift.

I also think it's due time to update a lot of the templates that comes in Fusions Bins. Most of them look very dated, and reminds me of WordArt or particle effects from old games. Don't just show people how tools work, show them they can look good. Give them a better starting point.

Another comment on Ultrawide monitors, though this might be a bug. In the fusion page, when working with a maximized window on ultrawide, I can't click on any checkboxes and similar UI elements in the node inspector (Resolve 15). If I drastically reduce the size of the window, I can click those boxes. I'm not sure if Resolve is builst in a way that scales well with various displays.

Media Delivery:
ProRes export for Windows.

A workaround for this is to create an empty folder structure in your finder/file explorer on your computer. Then you can simply drag the whole set of empty folders into to the Media Pool and it creates bins for you with those names and structures ;)

EDIT: But yes, a second vote from me to be able to do this natively with folder templates stored in DR

This is pretty minor, but for subtitling it would be ideal if when enabling a background it would automatically adapt to text size. As is, if you enable a background it's one size and if you have text of differing lengths you just have extra background floating around which you can't adjust per individual caption.

easiest way is to get a node, change the color space to HSL, color mixer, preserve luminance off. now look at the blue channel (L) and subtract the saturation (green) by about -0.03 / -0.05.

It get blotchy very fast though...

in the motion flow analysis for noise reducer or for speed effect, there is the problem of analyzing tails (if existing).

case in point is a VFX show where each VFX is delivered with a slate of sort as first frame and the client want to use the shot form frame 2 (first frame of image). if you do a temporal noise reducer or a speedwarp, resolve will try to use the first frame that is garbage. same thing when you use an edl to cut a committed timeline.

so, a tool that can use tails to do something, should have a button/checkbox that allow use to only use visible frames (no tails).
