Single node grab

PostThu Aug 08, 2019 10:03 pm

A single node grab or a drag-and-drop node to the gallery would be very usefull.

I would like this.

I wonder, could the feature be further refined to Selection Grab, so that all (and only) selected nodes would be included in the Still?

Well, you can do this with the mouse. I'm not sure exactly what you're describing here.

You can grad a still from a node? I couldn't find how.

The idea is to grab a single node within a grade with several nodes.

I think this would be too complex to engineer, particularly for sessions with 25 or 30 or 40 or 50 nodes (and trust me, it happens). If I wanted to save just one or two nodes, how many keystrokes would it be to say, "just node 26-27 and omit #1-25 and 28-39"?

My workaround is to do the following:

1) create a new version

2) delete all the nodes you don't want from the still grab (for example, if you're creating a PowerGrade) by lassoing them and hitting delete

3) position the node left optimally in the Node window and label it

4) grab the still, and you now have the correction from just that single node.

Go back to the original version and your corrections have been restored. I do this all the time in order to create Power Grades, and it takes less time to do than to explain it. In a pinch, I'll use Display Node Window for a previous grade and then just drag in the single node I need and put it in the right place in the tree.

None. Use the mouse. Adding Grab to Right Click would do it.
