Locked Playhead on Edit

They do, i know as a fact talking with them, it comes down to:
time/resources and what marketing want to be implemented first....

To me one of the frustrating things with both Premiere and Resolve is something Walter mentioned, it comes down (too often) to what marketing wants.

Having been "around" the Adobe people for years at NAB, I realized the M&E people with their metrics and off-floor scheduled interviews were far more important to what the devs worked on than the devs themselves.

Mentioning this to the engineers tends to get a pained no comment while they look into the distance.

Asked a couple friends who seem tied into Resolve and one said M&E is there to support the devs. The other ... long pause ... said that's perhaps a bit optimistic.

Sigh.

Are we talking about the Playhead always going back to the same position when you stop playback? So you can actually work on a specific section without having to click back to where you were EVERY SINGLE TIME? This is how it works in FL Studio, and honestly I am baffled this isn't a thing in Resolve. Please advise if I am understanding the feature correctly.

no, it is about the playhead stay in the middle when you are playing and have the actual timeline slide underneath as in teh cut page....

+1, absolutely. It would be a really cool feature in the edit mode. Hopefully, BMD, it is among the top 200 things on your to-do-lists...

And while I am here: Thanks and Hurray for an absolutely fantastic product! I am still using the free version—I have only recently begun with cutting videos—but I will definitively upgrade soon to the Studio-version! (I want it anyway, plus I cannot show enough appreciation with mere words...)

Well.. is not really “fixing” it’s a choice….

Don't understand the desire for it at all, personally, it always
just seems pointlessly distracting whenever I've used it on other systems... but I know enough people who do prefer it to give it a +1, with the caveat that it should be disabled by default, and everyone who enables it is obviously deranged.

My god, free up the dam playhead! This is ridiculous. Give the same options as on Fairlight Page!!! I personally want no scrolling. How many years are we going to wait??

I would hope for a toggle button in the grouping just above the timeline or at the very least in the menu with the stacked timeline toggle.

There must have been an awful lot of faithful users yelling for a boring detector if this many people have been asking so long for a very basic feature that is already written and used on other pages. And don't even get me started on UI customization (like Premiere already has...shhhh.)
