Optimize a few slow operations

PostThu Aug 15, 2019 2:35 pm

When I switch between the different Pages its always quite slow. To move from Edit to Media takes 5-10 seconds for me. Color and Fairlight is about the same, Fusion takes a bit longer.
After I have switched to them, then its faster to switch to the others and it takes about 1 second. Later this seems to get slower again.

Another thing that is slow if you take say 100 clips in the Edit page from the Media Pool and drop it onto the edit section, so that it will create a new timeline. This often freezes Resolve for 10 seconds, the icon is also confusing since it shows that you are not allowed to drop down clips, but it still works.
This is often how we start editing, we just drop all clips so we can go through them on the timeline.

Even on a very old i7 920, switching between pages was always instantaneous for me.

Just did a test again after working on a project for a long time. 4 seconds.

Switching between pages is also almost instant for me. I just have a measly little Core i3 6100 with 8gb ram. Hardly a beefy editing machine. This is on Windows 10. Maybe its an issue with your specific setup.

Worth investigating. We have 4 more machines I can test with.

I also facing some delay when switching to another tab, delete a clip in a timeline or when I click in a different clip in the color page. I was not facing this problems before in davinci 16, its start randomly in a project that I am working for the last weeks.
