"Reveal in Finder" on selected Edit timeline clips

PostFri Sep 13, 2019 11:19 pm

It'd be nice if the contextual menu for clips in an Edit page timeline would include "Reveal in Finder" (or Explorer) for the selected clip. While you can use "Find in Media Pool" to reveal the clip in Finder, this is an an additional unnecessary step for an otherwise simple option.

I usually Media Manage Resolve timelines to trim off unnecessary footage, and there are often times when I need to use an external app to generate a roto matte for a clip. In these cases, I will open the Edit page, highlight the clip in the timeline, then select "Find in Media Pool", then "Reveal in Finder" to show the clip in the macOS Finder. I'll then drag that clip in to the external app for further roto'ing.

I do this so often, that it is a noticeable hurdle in my workflow to have to do the "Find in Media Pool" thing first, before revealing the clip in the Finder.
