Changing USB audio sources requires restart (18b3)

PostFri May 27, 2022 11:22 am

As I am experimenting with different USB audio sources, i.e. different microphones, and I may disconnect a USB device and connect another one, I noticed that it's not available to patch. There seems to be no refresh of devices when opening the patch dialog. I have to close resolve and restart it for the device(s) to show.

Changes to the audio device selection in Resolve's Preferences will require a host restart.

Yep, it's normal for Resolve, just not normal generally in audio I/O software. Rather confusingly it can let you select and connect to devices in terms of the GUI, but not in terms of the actual I/O connections, especially for virtual ASIO and WASAPI and also it will set the monitor.xml to whatever it can connect to even though you've never set Resolve to use that interface which is highly confusing.
