Exchange of Resolve 18 Studio timelines to Resolve 17 Studio

PostFri Jul 01, 2022 12:38 pm

I exported a .drt (timeline export) to send it to a friend. He has Resolve 17 Studio. Couldn't open it. Resolve claimed that the "project could not be opened".

I tried a .XML. Resolve 17 was able to open it, but all the Title+ effects I used were offline and recognized as offline"Fusion composition".

V18 projects will not open in v17. There was a very significant change in the way we store project data so the BMD cloud project libraries would work.

That's normal behaviour and BM was clearly communicating it.
XMLs are the only way, with severe limitations.
The software may be free, but the hardware needed for smooth performance is not.
