Fairlight problem

PostSun Jul 03, 2022 8:14 am

Hi

Suddenly I cannot use the PAN function on a track? The ambience track in my 5.1 mix gets stuck on center forward and cannot be moved. any ideas?

If I select a 5.1 monitor setting in preferences for DR 18.5, it resets this to the default Stereo setting when restarting!

The PAN is then locked and the only way to use it is with the pen but this only allows for back and front.. definately something wonky with this whole thing. Hope DR fixes this quickly

Appears to be a Mono Track in Read with no Touch preference enabled in the automation panel.

problem is caused by the automation being 'on' which then locks the PAN window

is this how it should be?

With Mix On, all automation items with automation data will read that data and the operator has no manual control over parameters unless an automation item and Touch mode is enabled and a parameter adjusted. Automation items with no automation data can be manually controlled.

Suggest reading Chapter 174 of the Resolve 18 Manual which covers automation recording.

Thanks, will do. Does the chapter tell me how to delete automation from a track?
