Resolve shows wrong view transform in UI viewer ACES/HDR/MAC

PostTue Nov 17, 2020 12:34 pm

Hi,
this is actually an ongoing problem since version 16.
With the right preferences settings, I can see on my MBP or iMac2020 HDR in the UI viewer. I know its a "preview". I am using ACES 1.1 and the ODT ST-2084, 1.000 Nits D65P3limited.

The viewer shows the image in the color page too bright. Like there is an additional view transform applied.
The ProRes 4444 output is darker, less bright, when viewing it in the QuickTimeX player.

In FCPX in a HDR WideGamut library the UI shows the same image as the ProRes export. It is a bit comparing Apples to Oranges, because FCPX doesn't not work in ACES.

The UI in Resolve is not a HDR grading monitor, but at least it should be able show a more or less accurate image.

Please fix this issue.

Best
