We users don't normally know when the next release will drop. It just shows up one day.

As your machine doesn't have a dedicated GPU I suspect that's your issue (the logs say you're running out of GPU memory) - I don't know what the minimum PC requirements are for DR17, but I presume it requires a dedicated GPU.
HW: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 64GB DDR4 3600 CL16 RAM, 3x2TB NVMe SSDs (1xGen4, 2xGen3), 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, dual monitor (4k, 1080P)
SW: DaVinci Resolve Studio 17b7, Win10 Pro 20H2, Nvidia Studio Driver 460.89, latest BIOS/chipset/drivers/etc.

Beta's and indeed the Release will depend on the feedback from users.
It can be days to months depending what the Beta Testers find.
Some seemingly MAJOR problems can be fixed in seconds.
Some seemingly minor problems my require a major redesign to some of the internals taking months.
It is very much "How long is a peice of string"

Thanks for posting those Charles.

From Daniel's logs:
Code: Select all
[0x000009f0] | GPUDetect            | INFO  | 2020-11-19 13:16:42,923 | Detected 1 GPUs:
[0x000009f0] | GPUDetect            | INFO  | 2020-11-19 13:16:42,923 |   - "Intel HD Graphics 4600" (gpu:55e31b6b.5f6737f1) <- Main Display GPU
[0x000009f0] | GPUDetect            | INFO  | 2020-11-19 13:16:42,923 |     Integrated, 1.6 GiB VRAM, PCI:0:2.0
[0x000009f0] | GPUDetect            | INFO  | 2020-11-19 13:16:42,923 |     Matches: OpenCL, Win32
Note that it's reporting 1.6GB, and there are two issues with this:
  1. DaVinci Resolve requires 2GB minimum, as per the specs Charles gave.
  2. The 1.6GB is ficticous, as integrated GPU's share system memory. If something (like say, DaVinci Resolve...) uses up your system memory, there's not going to be much left for the GPU. Intel has a good support article on this: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000020962/graphics.html
