Audio choppy when used inside Compound Clip

PostWed Dec 23, 2020 6:37 pm

Hello Everybody.

To put it short: When I create Compound Clip with more than one audio track, most of the time there's no audio playing at all from that clip in my Main Timeline (despite it playing inside Compound Clip). I've found that when creating that Compound Clip Resolve doesn't map audio channels to Bus 1 of that clip. Why? No idea, but at least I can fix that manually in Fairlight page. And there comes the issue I can't cope with. Very often the audio of that Compound Clip plays terribly choppy in my main timeline. It messes the sound completely - it sounds like skipping along clip's audio track back and forth. When I open the Compound Clip timeline it plays with no issues. It's faulty only in my main timeline.

The clip has two video tracks (one keyed out green screen) and two audio tracks - VO and ambience, each of them mapped to Bus 1 output of the clip. FPS of all used clips and timelines match each other, so no problems there. Nothing too fancy... Still maybe I've been doing some simple, obvious mistake there. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

It happened to me also but with nested timelines. When i'm using nested timelines with multiple audio tracks I can hear tiny random fractions scattered throughout video.

Maybe this bug report is also related viewtopic.php?f=36&t=129709

That's right, same with nested timelines. Technically it's the same situation. The only 100% solution as of now was to unfold all audio from nested/compound clips onto the main timeline. Not especially convenient solution in case of further editing, but well... For the sake of exporting I just copied all clips into new timeline, unfolded audio there, and then exported the project. Seems like we need to wait for a fix.

I have this issue too and it makes for very tedious editing.

Still happening, just about to test 18.5. I have 58 compounds so I can export them all at once rather than by each timeline and its causing issues with audio skips. Only happens after first few compounds and gets worse overtime.
