Cropped video still shows cropped portion but as translucent

Hi,
When I crop a video, when I play the video on the timeline, or render the video, the cropped portion still appears but translucent.

I have attached a clip to show this. I found a similar issue:

which did not have a solution.

for me this has only started happening since I updated today.

Any help would be appreciated thank you

You'll have to wait for Beta 9, or maybe try another effect besides Crop. A mask in Fusion, for example.

As a stop-gap fix, you can also add an Alpha Output on the Color page for the clip and connect it as I have it the screenshot below, it will work the right way then. I do hope they fix this in the next beta.

I've had something like this appear recently as well, but only when I have colour/fusion bypassed. It renders out OK.

Is there a schedule for Beta releases? I would rather wait.

But if needed, would I uninstall DaVinci then reinstall the older version and that would keep my project database intact which by default went to

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Resolve Disk Database\Resolve Projects\Users\guest

We typically don't know when updates will drop. They just show up one day.

Change the Composite Mode under Composite in the Inspector > Video tab to Alpha (instead of Normal). That solves the problem for now.

Beta 9 includes this.
