Fusion does not use all GPUs in DR19

PostFri Apr 26, 2024 12:37 pm

I dont know if this was an issue in DR18, but...

I have DR Studio 19, so I can use more than one GPU for processing.

This is true for the Edit page. Noise reduction, Color Correction, OpenFX, etc. all make use of both of my GPUs

However Fusion only uses one, no matter the content of the composition.

This one uses 3D, Color Correction, Chroma Keying, Tranforms, Masks and Motion Blur

Is this the expected behavior?

My setup:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X - 64GB Ram
2 x AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT (latest Adrenalin Driver - 24.4.1)
Windows 11 (23H2)

Fusion uses a lot of cpu and ram; more recently further gpu acceleration has been incorporated for some FX; but a lot ram not vram is still almost essential to get the best out it. It's been the same for quite some time and is not a bug.

See Casey Faris's interview with Puget Systems. They mention the downside of using more than one GPU with Davinci Resolve.
