DR19 Request - Improve the speakers on audio transcribed

PostMon Apr 15, 2024 12:01 pm

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Blackmagic Design for the significant upgrade to DaVinci Resolve (DR).

Regarding the speaker recognition feature in transcribed audio, I humbly request an enhancement.

It would be beneficial to have a mechanism, perhaps a database or a similar solution, that allows me to associate a specific voice with a labeled name.

For instance, if I frequently work with videos featuring the same nine speakers, I need a method to categorize each voice with a corresponding name. Then, when I receive a new video featuring these individuals, I could apply these settings or restore this file to automatically recognize the voices and assign the previously used names to their respective speech lines. This would greatly streamline the transcription process.

For me, this would be a tremendous improvement to my workflow and a significant time saver. I can't begin to imagine how many hours I will save by not having to spend nearly two hours categorizing each piece of footage. This change could revolutionize the way I work.

It would also be handy to be able to export the transcription to a text file with the speakers name and perhaps even timecode. It only exports the transcript itself. Handy for clients to make a paper edit and I don't have to spend ages assigning a name to each speaker.

Yes, Ross, that exact thing was requested a long time ago. I hope they implement proper exports. Premiere does this well.

+1

Speaker detection is great, but without proper export including timecode and speaker names it really isn't as useful as it could be.

The data is already there.
Just include it in the export please.

Thanks

I would like to add to those who are requested that the time code and speaker names be available in the export. It is the natural end to the usefulness of the time code/speaker feature.

Also commenting to point out that I hope "Speakers names" and "Timecode" will be able to be displayed in the export. This feature would be a massive improvement for me and was surprised it was not available after downloading the beta.

Thanks for the new 19 b3 version.

I was hoping to have this feature / fix in 19 beta 3, but we will have to wait longer.
