Removing silences feature with audio-only tracks?

Hi. Is it possible to use the new auto silence removal feature (via transcription editing) on an audio-only track? I'm trying to do it... but when I click the button that should remove the silences, nothing happens. Does it only work on video + audio tracks for some reason?

Is the Transcription window accessed from the Edit or Fairlight Timeline?
The Fairlight Timeline currently has limited Transcription functionality as compared with the Edit page.

Is the Transcription of Media Pool items or Clips on the Edit Timeline?
It is possible to remove silent portions of audio-only Clips on the Timeline.

I'm accessing the transcription window from the Edit Timeline, and it's a clip on the Edit Timeline.

When I click the button that's supposed to remove all the silences, it shows then as crossed out within the transcription window... but nothing actually happens to the audio clip in the timeline.
