18.5b3 : Marker duration display

PostTue May 23, 2023 5:13 pm

Hi,

In Media page, when 'Show Marker Overlays' is selected, it doesn't display right Marker duration as it should in 'Duration' field ? ! (W10)

Same here:

Clicking "Convert In and Out to Duration-Marker" in the Edit-Page-Timeline I get the Timecode of the In-Marker, not the Duration of the Clips between In and Out I of course previously set.

Would be fine if it would fixed in the next Beta.

I recall someone from BMD mentioned that 'Duration' in the marker overlay simply reminds you that the marker has duration. It is not intended to tell you what that duration is.

This must be new. Until 18.1.4 it worked the way I was used to since Version 14.

If they really changed it, I ask for the return of this function which makes live easier to e.g. choose Background-Music etc.

Should we really calculate duration manually? When we elsewhere use AI to make work easier? ;)

Perhaps you're right, Josef - I'm not sure what the support person stated - I thought they were claiming this to be 'as-designed' but I may be mistaken. It does seem that the value of duration would be far more useful than just the tag 'Duration', lol.
