Workflow Questions ~ Storage, Versioning, No-Internet

PostFri May 09, 2025 2:30 am

Here are some questions I have with BMCloud Workflow. Would love input from teams who are using it.

1. Where does all members of the team store their own files? Is it in the bmcloud synced folder, alongside the other media downloaded from the cloud? Or is it in their own file path, and then when imported to resolve, aliases/shortcuts are made in the bmcloud linked folder. It seems both are options, just not sure what's cleaner?

2. What is the workflow for making a project offline? Let's say an editor is the only one using it for a month and will be travelling with spotty internet, and wants to use it offline. Do they copy it to local database? How does cloud storage work for that? And then when they are ready to share it again, do they copy it to the project library again as a new version and have to re-upload all the cloud files- taking up more storage?
- this is something I'd love for Blackmagic to add. A way to 'sync' a cloud project with a local project. And a way to not have to re-upload the cloud files again for a project duplicate.

3. Is there any advantage to setting a project to single-user? Why is that option there, shouldn't all projects just be multi-user?
