Two editors (1 MAC, 1 PC) both original footage...workflow?

PostFri May 09, 2025 12:29 pm

Hey guys,

Ok as mentionned in subject : we are two editors, we both have the same original footage about 300 GB each, same audio too. One is on macOS other on PC. How do we manage so we DONT have to sync proxies
or upload originals as we both have the same assets. Im trying to find this information online , but all workflows tend to include syncing proxies or originals.

Thanks in advance

I'm just starting to use Blackmagic Cloud myself, but this is how I would approach it based on my understanding of how this works.

Create the project online with sharing enabled, select to NOT sync proxies or the media, then you both open the project on your respective computers and look at where the media is to be stored, then copy the media to the proper location as indicated by the project.

Once Resolve finds the media in the identical relative location on each computer it should work the same as if you had synced the media automatically, just keep the folder structure for the media the same between the systems.

Phase 3: Profit!
