RAID on Blackmagic Cloud Store Devices

There are two types of Cloud Store devices that can be distinguished by their design. One design is a flat design suitable for rack mounting and the other design is upright on your desktop that reminds me of BMD’s eGPU or a model of a futuristic building. Let’s call them ‘flat’ and ‘upright’ for now.
The flat options seem to implement RAID0 that optimizes speed and maximizes total available storage. The upright options use RAID5 that emphasizes safety at the cost of some reduced performance and less storage due to the creation of keys. All is well with either configuration until you encounter a failure.
A single component drive failure on the upright configuration with RAID5 merely requires one to replace the single faulty component and then wait for the system to rebuild all its data structure. Inconvenient but safe. A single component failure on the flat configuration with RAID0 means lost data and cannot be recovered in the way that RAID5 rebuilds itself. RAID0 would require a recovery from backup of all component drives.
But is anyone using the flat devices actually backing up their RAID0 data?
If I purchased a Cloud Store, I would purchase the upright version.
