Hey. Below is a note I'm going to send to the company IT guy, but maybe there's a solution for this that's already known. Grateful for any clues! //drew
We have a library of Davinci Resolve Projects in the Blackmagic Cloud. With this arrangement, we can access our projects from wherever we are and work freely as long as we have the video assets with us. These Projects are also collaborative, meaning that we can all work in a project at the same time. But there’s a problem that can prevent this.
If someone who’s inside the corporate network (i.e. "NNN WiFi" and the wired ethernet) opens the project first, then only other people that are inside the network or connected to the NNN VPN can open and work on the project. This, despite that the project is hosted in the Blackmagic Cloud. Conversely, if someone working from home opens the project first, then only people outside the network or people connected to "NNN Guest WiFi" will be able to open and work on the project.
Ideally, we wouldn’t need to think about this. Our goal is to be able to work freely.
We believe there are some ports that are used (“TCP port 443 for HTTPS connections to Blackmagic Cloud services”) for the cloud work. Maybe that’s all that is required. Already we’re using an obscure setting in Davinci Resolve (“Optimize project library cloud data traffic”) that allows us to work though whatever security that’s in place. Blackmagic wouldn’t tell me what that feature does, but it’s known widely as “the firewall fix”.
