Many institutions, particularly educational ones like schools and universities, as well as businesses, have invested significantly in purchasing multiple perpetual DaVinci Resolve Studio license keys over time.
Currently, managing the activation of these owned licenses across numerous workstations (e.g., in computer labs, editing suites) is a manual and often cumbersome process. It typically involves:
Manually tracking which key is activated on which machine.
Physically accessing machines to activate/deactivate licenses if a key needs to be moved.
Difficulty in dynamically allocating licenses based on real-time needs (e.g., for a specific class session, project, or user).
While the Blackmagic Cloud Organization offers powerful tools for project collaboration and potentially user management, it currently lacks functionality to leverage existing investments in perpetual licenses in a flexible, centrally managed way. The focus seems to be more on cloud collaboration aspects or potentially subscription/rental models, rather than managing owned activation keys.
Proposed Solution:
Enhance the Blackmagic Cloud Organization platform to allow administrators to:
Register their existing, owned DaVinci Resolve Studio license keys into their Organization account.
Remotely assign/activate these owned keys to specific workstations via the Cloud interface.
Remotely revoke/release the keys back into an available pool when no longer needed on a machine.

Centralized & Remote Management: Simplifies administration, saving time and effort.
