I just bought the POd, so forgive me if this sounds like newbee stuff, i've a bit too busy to jump into this..
First, i made sure i have all the proper USB-C cables. grabbed a Cat5 cable. Wall wart ready to go. i plugged it into My Eero Repeater, I have Fiber, it's what the local ISP uses. (i am looking into a proper cat5 or 6 router-just, havent done it yet)
installed the latest version CLoud Store Setup. v1.6. BMD added BMD CLoud Storage and did away with Google Drive. Which, to me, makes 100% sense. least for the BMD storage part..
I have both a Mac Studio M2 and a PC to use.
I watched several videos on set up and access. I've setup everything pretty much as default. left it on DHCP, didnt change it to static. didnt add a Admin USer. the software seems pretty self explanatory.
I disconnected the Admin USB cable.
On my Mac, It takes absolutely forever for the drive to show up. I've tried the Show Drive option in the BMD software, and tried the Command K, and the Network option in a folder.
when it does finally show up, i have about 4-5 minutes, and the drive disappears. i've had this happen at least 3 times.
back in the Cloud Store Setup app, there's no drive, and no Pod.
like i said, i have both mac and PC. So , i tried it on the PC aas well. tried to just look at the Cloud Store setup app, and no Pod, no drive.
I have unplugged it for 30 sec, and plugged back in.. and then it works.. for 4-5 minutes..
I'm thinking i got a bad piece of hardware here. It feels like the flakiest piece of hardware i've bought in 20yrs. Like, i'm very tempted to jus return this thing.
Any thoughts?
[edit: I also checked the formatting of the SSD. as HPFS+ and ExFat are the only supported types. so that checksed out. Also, while a drive may be small, it doesn't mean its an SSD. I double checked that. Just unplugged everything again.. counted to 30, and plugged it in.. showed up for a minute..and Disappearred again]
