ATEM SDI Extreme ISO video block noise issue

PostSun Sep 24, 2023 3:27 pm

We used a new ATEM SDI Extreme ISO on Friday to stream a 2 camera show with a key/fill vMix graphics system. All inputs were 1080 59.94P. The live views and ISO recordings all look fine, but the stream output had this weird digital blocky noise in the recording (and on the live stream) that resulted in a vertical line on the left side of the frame.

The streaming setting was set to Streaming High. We also tried Hyperdeck high setting, but with the same results. We rebooted it a few times, checked firmware, and tried various other recording settings. Did we maybe get a defective encoder or is this a known issue? The stream quality was good other than that.

It's a little hard to show here in a still, but it was constantly moving and changing and as such was quite distracting...especially on static images. Here is a link to the YouTube stream at a still pre-show graphic and you can see it clearly.

Was there a resolution to this problem?

I seem to be having a related issue live streaming our church services on YouTube. There is a very thin vertical line on the extreme left side of our live streams, no matter which camera input we switch to. It is difficult to see on the stills below (I had to zoom in to see it), but in our live streams the vertical line is quite noticeable. I'll include a link to one of those as well.

We do use the Chroma Key for adding lower thirds lyrics from songs to our live streams. I've adjusted the Chroma Key and the key source extensively to no avail.

We have had this problem for months because I have not found a solution. However, we have not always had this problem. I have no idea what causes it.
