Blackmagic design television studio 4k8 storage glitch

PostSat Sep 07, 2024 1:16 pm

Hello any one who can help,

I have a client who has the Blackmagic design television studio 4k8, and he showed me a weird glitch that I have never seen happen before and I'm hoping someone may have seen or experienced this with their folders within the internal storage of the switcher.

For some reason when you try to open (in our case 2) specific folders, it seems like they disappear and/or become another folder... It is very difficult to to truly explain in writing what we are seeing because we've never seen it before so I'll try to explain using the folder names we have.

If we try to open folder "Pod 14" for instance, "Pod 14" will disappear and "Pod 9" will highlight instead. The folders seem to shuffle a bit. Currently it is only happening to 2 folders "Pod 14" disappears when we try to open it as well as "Pod 16" all other folders open normally as folders should. Now once we lose the folder we discovered if we click the back arrow (<) in the finder window it comes back.

I've never seen folders behave like this and I've been searching the forums and internet to see if anyone else has experienced this and I can't find anything. If any one has any ideas it would be of great help because my client needs the footage in those folders for a piece in a few weeks.

Thanks in advance.

Spaces at the end of file names have caused some odd glitches previously with the ATEM Extreme models.

As an aside file/folder naming can sometimes be edit from using 2 digit or 3 digits (depending on how many projects/folders you anticipate in total).

Pod 01, Pod 02 etc that way if you list folders/files most operating systems will show them in order. I'm not saying that's a cause here but it does sometimes help sorting files correctly.
