It's a lovely little unit, and the fixed codec is "adequate", but for my purposes of post editing, not livestreaming, it would be nice to have some codec options in there.
I couldn't find info about what they have baked into there, but it appears to be a VBR in the 35mbit target range. That's likely fine for most things that you'd use this device for, but it would be nice to have the option for something like a 50mbit cbr to match what many cameras are using.
May not seem like much, but i also sometimes have to fight the upper folks who hear it's a lower rate and will then insist on using the camera files.
