I am creating video footage from 6 separate Sony Handy Cams, each with a clean HDMI out to a Black Magic ATEM extreme ISO switch. I record 6 separate guests and edit in the studio audio that combines the audio from all the guests separately. The studio audio is a single track, no iso available.
Unfortunately the Sonys only stream video, not audio. I would like to create scratch audio from each speaker to use one of the automated jump cut software plugins to hopefully reduce production time in Davinci Resolve. For the jump cut software to work, each video track has to have the matching audio from the guest, it won't work with a combined single audio track. The goal is to create a multi cam clip with the jump cuts already put in from the jump cut software so I don't have to spend multiple hours on this edit. Unfortunately, I can't work the switch myself since I'm also one of the guests. I just don't have those kind of reflexes! The studio audio I can edit in on a separate track later after the jump cuts are put in.
I purchased an embedder, JTECH-18GAE, which is supposed to combine analog audio with the video stream from the video camera, and input it into the ATEM, which could be recorded on an ISO basis. But so far it doesn't work. I'm not super familar with the audio settings on the ATEM software. I am wondering if I have to make an adjustment there or maybe this set up just won't work. Can anyone advise?
Any suggestions? If not, can you recommend another product or approach to have the audio follow the video? I remember seeing an audio follows video feature, maybe for the ATEM, but I think it only works with Black Magic cameras, which are out of my budget.
