Mac Ventura & Decklink Duo 2

PostThu Oct 31, 2024 10:42 pm

We have a Decklink Duo 2 card in an expansion chassis connected to an iMac. I recently upgraded the iMac to Ventura, after being told by someone in BMD that version 12.8.1-12.9 version of Desktop Video works with Ventura. After doing so, now the decklink card is not operating like it used to. I have several questions requiring the card itself...
1. SDI connectors of which there are four (4), where is port number 1? Is it at the end next to the reference input, or at the other end.
2. I know now that the labeling of these ports are 1 - 3 - 2 - 4.
3. We have the following inputs and outputs:
SDI 1 - Output from a mac mini running zoom. The output of the mini goes thru a CONV/MUDC/STD/HD converter via a serial output on the mini.
SDI 2 - Output from a PTZ camera
SDI 3 - This is supposed to feed back as an input for out Zoom feed. Path is SDI 3 to CONV/MUDC/STD/HD, this then splits where one feed goes to a ULTRASONIC Recorder G3 an onto the MacMini USC-C. While the other part leaves the CONV/MUDC/STD/HD and goes to an HDMI input to Boxcast.
SDI 4 - Outputs to the projector thru a CONV/MBS/H4K/6G then onto to HDMI to the projector.

Are we doing something wrong? I am perplexed that there is no way to designate inputs or outputs on the Decklink Duo 2, as I've been told the card "knows" whether the cable is an in or out...

Check connector mapping in Desktop Video Setup. Make sure the connectors are not paired.

I have set all ports to be single ports (SDI). But when I look at the setting screen, it's showing SDI 1 & 3 are joined. Not matter what I try, they will not stay single.

I've attached a diagram, of what I am trying to accomplish.

I do have a question about the Decklink Duo 2 card itself. There are four (4) physical ports to attach SDI cables, Can anyone tell me where port 1 is located? Also, based on BMD's info, port 2 & 3 are reversed. 1 3 2 4

In the diagram above should I swap the cables on 2 & 3?
