Gaussian Blur messed up my timeline

Hi there. I'm a newbie and this is my first post.

I was trying to make the first clip blurry on the middle half while I fade in some text at the same time. I dragged a FX Gaussian Blur to the clip, but it got applied to the entire timeline. Now I can't undo. I tried ctrl+z. Didn't work. I tried closing the project and reloading. Didn't work. I looked for an autobackup timeline. There weren't any. I closed the app and started up again. Still blurred.

I'm really frustrated as I've already lost the first timeline I created (it just dissappeard one day) and had to recreate it. Now this!

I've googled for ways to remove the blur but couldn't find any. Please help! I don't want to have to create the entire timeline over again. The first time took me several days.

When you apply FX to a clip on the EDIT page, you have to open the Inspector window. There is a tab called FX where you can find your effect. Click the little trashcan icon to remove the FX.
