2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G and 3x3 Converter

I am looking for some info on using the Mini BiDirect 12G and a 3x3 Converter together in a live production setup. How do you know which input on the 3x3 that the Mini BiDirect is going to use on the SDI Out?

I don't see a setting for selecting the Input nor do I see a setting for saying this Mini BiDirect gets this IP address. Am I missing a step?

To help a little bit, the IP address may be set either using the device menu or the Converter Setup Utility.

This may not be the product you want to be fair. By itself it cannot switch SDI inputs to SDI outputs. A Videohub might suit your workflow better. The 3x3 HD is designed to route 2110 style IP HD video. The SDI inputs may be routed to an IP destination, and the SDI outputs may be set to receive an IP Source.

To be exact, it is actually possible to route the SDI inputs to the SDI outputs but to do this you would need a suitable 2110 Ethernet switch and an NMOS control of some sort to make the route. We do make the Ethernet Switch 360P which will do this but it may be a bit overkill for your workflow unless you have a larger setup in mind. I hope this helps.

To be honest, we are currently using two of the 3x3 Converters: one Front-of-House and one Back-of-House. Everything has been meeting our expectations (although I have only been feeding Downstage Monitors, I have yet to try feeding the Main Screens to see if there is a delay). When we purchased the 3x3s we also picked up the BiDirect and an HDMI converter as well thinking that we might use them in the workflow.

With what you said, we may look into a Switch like the 360p then as well.
