I'm having an audio issue when connecting my ATEM Mini Extreme to my iPad 10th gen via a usb-c to hdmi dongle.
Problem:
When connecting my iPad via usb-c to HDMI dongle I see the screen mirrored just fine; however, when I play a video with audio (e.g. Youtube, Plex, VLC etc.), the audio is garbled and distorted.
I also tried with an iPhone 15 with usb-c. Same exact problem.
Observations
- If I keep the video playing with the garbled audio, unplug the dongle, plug it back in, then hit play again on the video the audio is normal. However, if I switch to another video it goes back to being garbled. And the only way to get clean audio is to unplug/plugin the cable
- If I use an older iPad with the lightning adapter to hdmi dongle the audio works fine 100% of the time
- If I plug in an android phone using the same cables. The audio is clean 100% of the time. I tried a Samsung S22 Ultra and Samsung zFold 5
- My Apple M1 Pro macbook using the same cable I get clean video/audio 100% of the time
- If I plug my iPad into a TV I get clean video/audio 100% of the time
Things I Tried with no changes
- Another ATEM Mini Extreme and observed the exact same problems (Both on the latest firmware version)
- Various HDMI cables (1.4, 2.0, 2.1)
- Various USB-C to HDMI dongles
- EDID Emulator
- HDMI Splitter
- Tried all 8 ATEM inputs, I found only ATEM inputs 1 and 2 have audio coming out. The other inputs there's no audio
- iPad is on the latest OS update
Any other ideas?
