Hollyland Pyro H not connecting to ATEM 1M/E Production 4K

PostWed Feb 12, 2025 10:08 pm

Hello.

My ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K doesn't seem to be picking up a signal from my Hollyland Pyro H wireless HDMI.

The Hollyland is connected to the production switch via a MicroConverter HDMI to SDI 3G. Normally, when the receiver is connected, there should be some sort of splash screen as it waits for a signal; however, I am not getting a splash screen and the feed is just black.

I attempted to use the HDMI input on Port 1, but I get the same result, just a black screen.

The production switch is set to 1080p59.94.
I know the Hollyland outputs a 1080p60, so I thought it might have been a framerate issue.
But when I connect it to our ATEM Mini Extreme, I get the Hollyland splash screen whether it is set to 1080p60 or 1080p59.94.

At this point, I'm at quite a lost.

Thank you.

The Atem Mini Extreme has scalers on every input, which will correct for any framerate differences. The Atem 1ME Production Studio does not - so all your sources have to match exactly the frame rate of the switcher.

Try (temporarily) setting the Atem 1ME to 60Hz and see if the Hollyland appears - it could also be an issue with level A/level B encoding, which again, the newer switchers cope much better with, while the older ones need to be have sources the exact matching setting.

Hello codedeltajames.

So it may still be a framerate issue given that the 1ME is an older device? Unfortunately, 60 is not an option on our 1ME.

I tried switching between the Level A and Level B, but that didn't seem to change anything.

A possible solution we were considering was picking up a Mini Converter UpDownCross HD.

Thank you.
