Video Assist Plaback - Only newest clip

PostWed Mar 05, 2025 2:19 pm

With the Video Assist 12g HDR (firmware v 3.18), It seems I can only play the last clip recorded. Pressing the left-right arrows when in play mode only jumps to the beginning-middle-end of the clip. The top right of the screen also states there is just 1 video clip when there are two confirmed clips.

How do I play a second clip that's on the SD card?

I've confirmed the two clips can play on the VA:
- Delete clip 2 (using a Mac). Clip 1 plays on the VA
- Deleting clip 1 (again on a Mac). Clip 2 plays on the VA
- Having both clip 1 and 2, only the newest clip plays on the VA

Any suggestions?

I not have my va near but have you check options? Also on Camera Os you have setup to see the last clip or all clips. Check on manual of Va

Your videos probably have different resolutions and/or frame rates. If I'm not mistaken a Video Assist (and Hyperdeck) does only look at the specs of the first file and then can only play files with the exact same specs. Furthermore, it can only playback files with the same codec as that is currently selected for recording.

After further testing, I can now confirm what you posted.

It looks like the VA reads the newest clip and then only will play that exact codec (and more importantly) frame rate. Even though I have two clips with all the same exact settings (except frame rate), only one will play -- the newest clip.
