Atem issue

PostFri Feb 28, 2025 4:08 am

Hi, I have a huge problem.

I connect to my local network via a switch, the computers connected to the same network recognise in Atem Control that the device is connected, the name of the device appears, but when I click on connect to use Atem Control, it tells me that there is no device connected.

Even other computers connected only by wifi recognise the atem mini in the Atem Control, but they can't connect.

Only if I connect via usb I can use the control software.

Can anyone help me?

The devices are connected via ethernet cable.

Hello dear friend

First make sure that the IP settings in the atem are configured correctly. To do this, connect with USB and open the atem setup, the device IP should be 192.168.10.240 and the default gateway should be 192.168.10.1

If the configuration is correct, connect the network cable directly from the device to your computer and open the Ethernet network IP settings in your operating system and enter the numbers as follows:

192.168.10.90
255.255.255.0
192.168.10.240

Now open the ATEM software

If you've successfully connected using the network cable following the above steps without issues, but you're still experiencing connection problems when using a router or switch, make sure all your devices are configured within the same IP range.

Also, ensure DHCP is disabled on the ATEM Mini.

Good luck.

I think the post above has the last number wrong. When you are manually setting your IP settings on your computer it should be

IP: 192.168.10.90
submask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.10.1

Notice the "1" where the "240" was

Another thing to mention is that if you are connecting to an existing network, all of these numbers could be different.

Lastly, make sure you don't have wifi turned on while also trying to use an ethernet connection because this can lead to sporadic results.

If the Atem Mini is connected directly to the computer via cable, the settings should be as follows:

Atem setup settings :

IP Address : 192.168.10.240
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.10.1

PC Ethernet settings :

IP Address : 192.168.10.90
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.10.240 or 10.1

Usually, when the Type-C cable is connected to the Atem software but the connection via the network cable is not established, it is because the static IP is not set in the Atem settings or the user is using other intermediate equipment such as a router.

As far as possible, it is best to use a completely independent network for Atem, except in special cases.
Or if a specific firewall is running; make an exception or disable it for Atem software.
