2110 3G Converter PTP Set Up

I have been testing the 2110 3G converter with respect to PTP set up.

I have a flat Ethernet network with 3 devices:

Time Machines (TM) Grand Master (GM) with GPS receiver.
BM 2110 3G converter
Laptop

When the BM PTP setting 'Set converter as PTP follower only' is unchecked, I observe the BM 2110 converter acting as the Grand Master. When the TM's priorities are altered to favor the BM 2110 converter, the laptop now uses this source as the PTP source.

This appears to be working fine.

In my media test network, the requirement is to clock the network, including the BM 2110 converter from the TM GM. When the BM PTP setting 'Set converter as PTP follower only' is checked, I do not see any responses from the BM 2110 converter. It was my assumption that the BM 2110 converter would act as a client and periodically respond with Delay_Req messages. How can I be sure that the BM converter is actually syncing to the PTP GM?

We are facing the same problem
Meinberg PTP GM, and the 3x3G converter is not attached to the clock when the "Follower" mode is enabled.
You can check the state of the clock through the API in the /self/ path

I had the same problem. PTP boundary clock is a Cisco Nexus NX-93108. Cisco Nexus defaults to an announce interval of 1; i.e. one announce message every 2 seconds.

Setting the announce interval to -2 (i.e. 4 announce messages per second) immediately solved the issue with the converter. For the Nexus switch the statement is "ptp announce interval smpte-2059-2 -2" in the interface context of the interface that connects to the 2110 converter.
