I'm looking for a camera which can provide a low latency 4K (or more) stream to a computer (one way or another). I don't think of it as a webcam, but that seems to be the best description. I like the look of the Black Magic Cinema camera but some research (I don't find it in the specs) suggests all are limited to 1080p whatever their internal capabilities. Is this right? I don't mind an indirect means of connecting, but it must be live and low latency.
I see a general tendency to reply "you don't need a 4K webcam" and I see why, but an explanation is probably in order. This is used to stream "live green screen theatre". The camera is put through OBS to add backgrounds, effects and stuff. Now, we will switch between wide angle (full body) and close up (upper body or head). The way this is done is to simply zoom to part of the image using OBS. Naturally, the original resolution is reduced; a 4K input is still only likely to end up as 720p. We might also split the input for two different treatments/backgrounds on different performers.
Thanks in advance!
