Hard Time Understanding IP Address of Studio Videohub 16x32

PostThu Apr 17, 2025 3:29 pm

Hey everyone

So I'm a Qtake operator, so I need to use a videohub. I recently switched from a Smart 20x20 to a Studio Videohub 16x32. Difference between the two, is that the 20x20 was connected by ethernet, and now the 16x32 is connected by USB.

I'm a bit confused with the IP address behavior with the 16x32. USB is connected to a Caldigit TS3. In network settings I'm using DHCP with Manual Address, 169.168.1.100

When I open Videohub Setup (latest version, 10.1), sometimes the hub will be listed as 169.168.1.100, and then sometimes it'll be 127.0.0.1 (in a matter of seconds, just closing the setup window and opening it right back)

I have no clue why! And it's not something I can change within Videohub setup.
Any clue what should I do? Qtake is operating fine but every once in a while the software will crash, or the hub will stop being responsive.

Since the 16x32 connects via USB there is no IP-adress involved.

There kind of is, the host PC is the host for the videohub hardware rails (and things like companion) to connect to.
So the IP adress is the adress of the PC, or localhost (127.0.0.1).
