Hyperdeck mini will not mount SSD in USB-c after update.

Has anyone else ran into the problem of after updating the Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio HD Mini Recorder with the latest firmware the USB-c port will longer recognize SSD drives. My exact model of the Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio HD Mini Recorder was the version that has only the Poe power supply option and can do the cut and fill outputs not the pass through. I have two of these record decks and I have recorded many hours to SSD drives through the USB-c port so I know the hardware was capably until I updated the firmware.

Have you found an answer to this problem? I am trying to connect an SSD to my Hyperdeck Studio HD Mini via the C port. It is not accessible on the screen. I have run an update and still nothing. With my web searches, I am finding posts that say that the c port is only for updates on the mini and NOT for recording. Others say it is also for recording. According to your post, I am assuming that you have had success in the past. I am trying on a SSD that is recommended by Blackmagic for recording. Thank you for any help you can give.

No luck yet. I am in contact with a large BMD dealer who has helped me with other problems. I will let you know if I learn anything. But yes some models could record using the USB-C port .. some of the very early ones did not but most of them could

Hey, same as you guys, been using a Hyperdeck Studio HD mini, and been recording straight to WD SSD 500GB for some time. Been trying to use and it wasn't recognising it- just rolled back the software to 8.4 from 8.5.2
this is not the best solution, but it has worked for us, hope this help you guys in some way

Thank you for the information. I have been talking to one of my Blackmagic suppliers over the last week and he is recommending for me to try going back farther like 7.0, but I have not had a chance to try it yet. I will keep everyone updated when I do it.

Can confirm 8.4 restores this functionality.

Must be 8.4, 8.4.1 does not work.
