Hi all together,
my Name is Silvio and I'm currently building a media studio at the university I'm working at.
The plan is, to build up a 4 camera setup (all four are Sony A7IV) - three of them in the video podcast area and the fourth in the photo-area, so it won't be used during the podcast / vidcast recordings.
From a German audio and video shop I got suggested to use the Atem Mini Pro (ISO) for the upcoming productions and after reading a lot and watchings videos about it, it seems like the perfect fit for our needs.
BUT: I recently read some discussions about losing the signal when using long HDMI cables. Unfortunately, I got this hint after ordering a whole bunch of HDMI cables for the studio. When designing the studio, I did a lot of cable management concepts, so in the end it was 1 HDMI cable with a length of 20 meters and three with round about 10 meters.
As our remainung budget is not that high anymore and all the preparations for buying the ATEM Mini Pro ISO (which are a lot as a public institution) I'm now really concerned whether it will work in the end.
We won't need any high end signals like 4k30 oder 4k60 as the A7IV would most likely overheat anyways, even 1080p60 is not needed I think. 1080p30 should be absolutely fine for the production.
Hope you can help me with that and thank you in advance!
