Studio Converter "NO CAM"

PostWed Feb 28, 2024 7:52 pm

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Studio Converters. They are connected to the studio cameras 4k pro G1 with a Cat6a cable directly to the converters. PoE works and the camera turns on. Unfortunately no signal is transmitted and the display show "NO CAM". What could it be?
I have the latest firmware on all devices. The cameras are running version 8.2 and the converters are running version 2.0.4

The only irregularity is that the latest version was displayed as 2.0.5 during the update. After the update it now says 2.0.4 and it is noted that this is the most current version and another update is not possible. Does anyone have an idea how I can get the camera image to the converter and back?

Thank you for your support.

Try toggling the SDI video output at the camera Monitor menu between 2160p and 1080p and see if that helps. I have heard it helped others. Also make sure there is no Ethernet connected to the RJ-45 labeled Control. Let us know if that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately that didn't help either. And nothing is connected to the control connection.

Have you found a solution? I have 4 of them and only 1 is working. All 4 are up to date and I'm using cat6a. Initially they all worked, even with cat 6 or 5e but can't get them see the cam now. Sometimes the poe will power the camera and sometimes it won't.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution for this problem yet. I was supposed to send the devices in, but unfortunately the warranty had already expired. And since the cameras are in constant use, I couldn't do that. The converters are still unused in the rack. It's really bad that there is no solution, especially since Blackmagic's response times are really long.

Has anyone figured out a solution to this problem? My studio converter is suffering from the same “no cam” condition.

Has anyone had a solution yet? I have 2 and one of them suddenly stopped showing the same symptoms.

Had the same problem. I tried switching the SDI output to 1080p under the monitor tab, and it seems to be working.
