4K Fiber Transmission Optical Module SFP

I need to fully populate a Blackmagic ATEM Studio Converter with 8 x 12K SPF's and 8 x single Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G at the camera ends.

I found some 12G-SDI SD-SDI Video Tranceiver 4K Fiber Transmission Optical Module SFP for Blackmagic Design BMD on AliExpress.

But it says "The sfp don't supports Video Pathological Patterns for SD/HD/3G/6G/12G-SDI".
It seems to contradict itself. It specifically mentions "12G SFP for Blackmagic Design you can add a Duplex Singlemode LC fiber optic connection to your Blackmagic Studio Camera, Teranex Converter, ATEM hardware, or any other professional device that supports SFP cages" but DOESN'T support Video Pathological Patterns. Is this another 'beware' product???

Hello Baz. We only qualify SDI SFPs that pass Pathological testing. While others may work some SDI signals may cause bit patterns that might cause the signal to blank out. It is probably best to stay away from those.

Simple said. IF they do not do Pathelogical Pattern for video, they have rebranded 10G network sfp's as 12G Video SFP's.

Yes its cheap. Yes it might work if you have a low budget. But expect situations where you get artifacts, weird glitches or even total non lock of signal depending on what the source signal is.

A video ramp / Pathelogical pattern test will stop these SFP's as the reclockers inside the SFP can't handle the long strings of 11111111 // 000000000 that occure in certain video patterns or if you have some content with a lot of off white / grey content..

SFP's that support pathelogical pattern have video reclockers inside. And these are thus build specific for video.

The reclockers used in network data systems just cant handle that..
