Atem Mini Pro Ethernet to Wifi Bridge?

PostThu Sep 03, 2020 5:58 pm

About to purchase Atem Mini Pro and wanted to see if anyone has tried using the Ethernet to WiFi bridge so I could connect through WiFi and also have it stream through there? Using something like the BrosTrend AC1200 Ethernet-2-WiFi Universal Wireless Adapter so I wouldn't have to get a long Ethernet to connect to the router. I know there would still be chances of dropouts, but didn't want to use the computer via USB-C for encoding and processing. Thanks!

I am also interested in this work flow. I would like to know if I can send the video signal wirelessly over an intranet using a wifi bridge.

Just because you can doesnt mean you should.
Everytime someone mentions the words livestream and wifi in the same sentance a tiny little forest imp turns up his toes and dies on the forest floor.

Seriously though... stick with a wired connection.

It doesn’t matter at this point. They have not been released despite being advertised as available.

I think you're talking about the Streaming Bridge, which has nothing to do with Wifi. This thread is about using Ethernet to Wifi bridges which are readily available today.

They're also quite inexpensive so I would suggest that anyone who's interested simply try one out. Whether it's suitable will depend a lot on the quality of the Wifi network and how mission-critical the live stream is. Some people might be happy to risk the occasional glitch in order to have the ability to live stream things they wouldn't be able to otherwise.

Thanks for correcting me. I know more now.
