ATEM MINI DEINTERLACING?

PostTue Apr 13, 2021 3:16 pm

Hello,
I have an ATEM MINI with the last firmware.
Connecting a 1080I 50 (or 60 if I switch to NTSC) to the video input, the video output (1080p 50) is wacky.
The recording is made by a DeckLink HD Extreme 3D (controlled from atem software control )
It seems that the source is not deinterlaced correctly, but it just keeps half of the lines.
Tried changing from AUTO MODE to all the video settings available (1080p 23.98/ 24 / 29.98/ 30 / etc etc), but the result is always the same.
The video output is horrible.
Am I missing something?
Is it normal? (I don't think so)

Uh, If I connect the video source (camera) directly to the monitor (bypassing the atem mini) the image quality is perfect and shown as 1080i 50.

Waiting for your precious feedback.
Thanks.
S.

From the manual...

Supported Video Input Standards
1080p60 1080i60
1080p59.94 1080i59.94
1080p50 1080i50
1080p30
1080p29.97
1080p25
1080p24
1080p23.98
720p60
720p59.94
720p50

so...the 1080i input shuld be supported and processed correctly.

isn't it?

Me, I'm sending a 1080i 59.94fps and it seems it is not correctly deinterlaced.
Appears like half lines vertically, something like to get just one of the who semi frame.

Any help?

Line doubling is the lowest level of deinterlacing and among fastest and least processor intensive.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinterla ... nterlacing

Yeah it could be better, slower, and more expensive. 720p50 may present a cleaner input as the machine is forced into using the scalers instead of taking a shortcut.

Good Luck

Sounds like line doubling to me. One wants to match frame rates as much as possible, 50i into 50p requires the manufacture of 100% of the information, that has to come from somewhere.

I could setup the atme to 1080p @29,94 and inputting @1080i @59,96

Nothing changed .-(

in this case, there are enough information...

Can you guys please email Black Magic, ask 1080i deinterlace feature fix?
