Audio Problem with ATEM Mini

PostThu Jun 24, 2021 1:24 pm

Hi everyone

Apologies if this has been asked before. I have recently bought an ATEM Mini for streaming concerts from a school and whilst the pictures work a treat the sound is very poor. I am told that the problem I have is that the audio is being recorded at a very quality - it sounds like it might be 32kb/s MP3 I am told! Is there a setting where you can increase the recording resolution?

Any help much appreciated!! Very many thanks, Scott

take a look at this topic. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=104996
If you use the gear icon and the bottom of the atem software under the audio tab, there is a setting for mic level, mic level power, and line in. Try these settings and see if it gets better.

Are you getting a dedicated board feed?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

How are you capturing your sound - are you using your own separate microphones, mics built into the cameras or a connection from a separate sound mixer/board?

Ah, thanks. I am using microphones plugged into a small mixer and then output of that into the ATEM using the microphone inputs. I have the ATEM set to Line Input.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Keep in mind that the "mic" inputs on the ATEM are Left / Right (unbalanced). The output of most mixers are balanced. In addition, most mixers are +4 dB, while the ATEM expects a -10 dB signal. It is best to use something like the Radial ProISO or J-ISO.
